We'll let the remover stand just a little bit longer before removing the coating, just to be sure it gets down deep.

Now we use a wire brush. It really doesn't take any effort. All the coating just shears right off. Anything left I'll just put on a light coat of the remover, and wait a minute or so.

I place the panel on this old cookie sheet and spray it with black Rust-Oleum Texture paint. Gives it a finish almost identical to the original. After that, off to the oven, where it spends 15 minutes at 150 degrees. It helps to "cure" the paint.

This is my rotary tool with the brush attachment. I use this to knock off scale and corrosion off the door's brass insides.
